The Club Med Djerba la Douce project
After Opio and La Palmyre, Club Med has renewed its confidence in Wifirst for the deployment and management of a secure, high-performance WiFi solution at its "Djerba La Douce" club (3 tridents).
The Tunisian vacation village, which covers more than 24 hectares, wanted to upgrade its Internet infrastructure to meet the needs of both its customers and its numerous teams.
We're very proud to have this opportunity to export our know-how internationally, and to strengthen our partnership with Club Med.
The challenge met
- Deployment in less than 4 months : Wifirst pulled out all the stops to ensure that Club Med Djerba La Douce's WiFi infrastructure was ready for the 2019 summer season!
- Implementing an unshakeable solution: In order to offer a unique connection experience to club guests, nearly 400 Indoor and Outdoor WiFi access points were deployed, along with some thirty giga switches. To build this exceptional LAN, 3kms of fiber optic cable were laid on site by Wifirst teams.
- Training Club Med's technical teams: Club Med wanted to ensure that someone on site could intervene independently in the event of an emergency. As a true partner, Wifirst passed on its know-how to the club's technical teams through several days of training.
Concrete results
Wifirst's achievement in Djerba means :
- free, available coverage throughout the village
- 719 rooms connected, as well as all common areas
- nearly 12,000 visitors over the entire season
- 386 Ruckus WiFi terminals supervised in real time by Wifirst teams
- 3 kms of local optical fiber covering the 24-hectare site
- 97% of sessions carried out on smartphones
- 4,627 distinct devices connected
- a peak of 820 users connected simultaneously
- peak traffic of 96 Mb/s
