Musée Rodin: WiFi for culture

Located rue de Varenne, in the heart of Paris, the Musée Rodin is an emblematic place dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of Auguste Rodin's work. With over 700,000 visitors a year, it is one of France's most popular museums, and stands out for its exceptional architectural setting, notably the Hôtel de Biron and its sculpture garden. The museum wanted to offer high-quality WiFi connectivity to its visitors and staff, while respecting the site's heritage constraints.

// TECHNICAL CHALLENGES: BETWEEN HERITAGE AND INNOVATION

One of the major challenges for the Rodin museum's IT department was to guarantee fluid, stable and secure connectivity in an environment with severe architectural constraints. The WiFi infrastructure had to cover the entire site, both inside the historic buildings and in the outdoor areas, particularly in the garden where visitors like to stroll while accessing enriched digital content.

Homogeneity and discretion, made-to-measure

Wifirst designed and deployed a tailor-made WiFi architecture, ensuring homogeneous and discreet network coverage to preserve the museum's heritage. During the audit, our WiFi experts studied all the factors that could influence network coverage and quality: materials, ceiling height in the Hôtel de Biron in particular, obstacles (in this case, the works of art!), user density and interference with other electronic equipment.

Wifirst deployed a WiFi infrastructure guaranteeing homogeneous, unobtrusive coverage, providing a fluid connection throughout the museum, including outdoor areas. Thanks to centralized network management with Wifirst center, the museum also benefits from access to detailed WiFi usage statistics, enabling it to better understand visitor behavior. This data, such as visitor numbers by zone, peak numbers and connection times, is a real lever for optimizing digital services and improving the overall visitor experience.

A lever for attractiveness and visitor experience

The network's stability and security also improve working conditions for museum staff and outside contributors, facilitating exchanges and the management of day-to-day operations. Curators, mediators and administrative teams can rely on a reliable network to access databases, manage exhibitions and coordinate events. What's more, this high-quality WiFi infrastructure is an additional asset for organizing private events within the museum.
