// SERVICE QUALITY CHALLENGES

High-performance WiFi for over-connected customers

The challenge of continuous connectivity

WiFi is a must-have for student residents. Students represent a very demanding clientele when it comes to WiFi connectivity, so that they can use it for their studies or leisure activities. To meet the needs of students who are over-equipped and constantly connected to the Internet, we proposed a fiber and WiFi solution to meet their requirements, in particular to guarantee a high quality of service with a very large number of simultaneous users.

Wifirst has been working with KLEY since 2017, with the partnership covering a total of 15 residences or 3,946 rooms connected with WiFi and dedicated optical fiber (1 Gbps for each residence).

Since the first residences went live at the start of the 2018 academic year, traffic has continued to break records. Today, there are 14,000 devices connected per month, with more than 200 GB consumed per room every month!

// DEPLOYMENT CHALLENGES

Tailor-made deployment for complex projects

Deployment usually takes place in parallel with building construction. Wifirst works hand in hand with KLEY and its partners, to ensure total cohesion with their standards and aesthetic criteria. As for the network infrastructure, it is designed even before the construction phase, so as to create optimum WiFi coverage, taking particular account of the challenge of shared accommodation.

Thanks to the combined deployment of a fully managed, tailor-made WiFi network and a dedicated optical fiber, Wifirst was able to create an optimal connectivity environment for all residents and staff.
