Green IT: concrete solutions for businesses

As a telecoms company, Wifirst has a particular responsibility in the implementation of a more responsible Digital. We have a model that, by construction, supports a sober approach, and we offer concrete solutions to help you meet your own carbon challenges.
Network time

A virtuous "network as a service" model

Our networks last longer.

We offer a connectivity service to all companies that want to make a real success of their digitalization. We emphasize the word "service" because we're not a hardware vendor. We have no interest in encouraging over-consumption of equipment. We even have an interest in ensuring that every piece of equipment we deploy and operate lasts as long as possible. We fight against programmed obsolescence.

Carbon footprint

Reduced carbon footprint with a unified network

We connect all your services on a single infrastructure.

Put an end to the thousand layers of network infrastructure that clutter up your data centers. Trust Wifirst to deploy a single, unified network that connects all your business and customer terminals. The result: less equipment, savings on deployment, operating costs and energy consumption.

Refurbished equipment? an excellent idea

The best solution for the planet is to produce nothing at all. We offer refurbished WiFi.

True to our approach, we prefer to commit to quality of service, and like to remain in control of the means we use. We have to admit that old-generation professional equipment, whether WiFi hotspots or switches, can still provide all the guarantees needed to deliver quality connectivity services. We have stocks of reconditioned equipment (mainly from contract renewals involving changes of infrastructure) and are delighted whenever we have the opportunity to re-use them with new customers.

Reducing energy costs

Wifirst evaluates the energy costs of the equipment deployed, in order to reduce the impact on the installed base (over 300,000 active devices monitored). Energy savings have already been achieved through the following actions:

  • Changing servers (Wibox). Result: reduction from 250 Watts to 30 Watts per server; study underway to implement a passive mode.
  • Use of more energy-efficient WiFi hotspots. Result: from 13 Watts to 5 Watts per unit.
  • Virtualization of Natbox equipment, whose functionalities have been embedded in the Wibox, to limit the hardware deployed and energy consumption.
"Excellent experience with Wifirst, whose teams were very professional at every stage of the project. Bravo for the idea of using reconditioned equipment, which, beyond the undeniable financial benefits, is really in line with the desire for ecological frugality promoted by Yes We Camp."
